So very, very sorry…
November 13, 2009
…to those of you that read this (the very few I’m guessing) I really have let you down, I haven’t written in months and for that I apologise in the mean time we have a EP (recorded and mastered by the masterful Jonny Teanby of Magnapinna/artwork by the amazingly talented Noah Brown) for free to download, that will hopefully go some way towards making up for my negligence. Hopefully this will also keep the *RSPBR off my back.
You can download the EP here, here’s what the lovely people at Lost Children Records had to say about us…
“‘Rememberable Rifts’, the debut EP from progressive Leeds 3 piece Hoarder Myna, is an immensely tight, crisp sounding debut from another great UK band blurring, and expanding, the definition of Math Rock.
Each song flows constantly, moving from one idea to the next, the roving guitar lines intertwine with the melodic bass patterns, underpinned by drums playing stacatto lead flourishes and driving rhythm simultaneously, before all comes together in harmonic unity. It may take many listens to fully understand the genius behind each movement, but good music should lend itself to repeat listens.”
Which I took as, fucking awesome, give this band money for stuff, so if anyone else reads the same please follow suit as I know I’ve given a lotta money to the bloody band and haven’t seen diddly squit.
We don’t have any gigs coming up as we’re writing stuff, it’s probably a lot worse then what was before so I hope you enjoy it…
Right I’m off catch ya later home guys…
J to the i to the m to the sigh…
*Royal Society for the Protection of Blog Readers
Hey
August 9, 2009
So seeing as my last update to this blog was almost two months ago, I think you deserve an explanation… well here it is, I have begun putting on gigs under the name Waiting Room Promotions (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter).
I also spent the majority of July with a laptop that I do believe can now be classified as vintage and retro, so if I were to have updated this blog I would have needed roughly 36 hours in the day to be able to check both my emails and post to here.
So anyway back to the interesting one, the gigs I have up and coming are…
Talons, On Histories Of Rosenberg (formally Caesura) + more, Royal Park Cellars, Leeds, £4, doors 8pm.
Hreda, Theo, Nitkowski + Hoarder Myna, Royal Park Cellars, Leeds, £5, doors 8pm
Castrovalva, Shield Your Eyes, Hoarder Myna + Amateur Assassins, The Packhorse, Leeds, £4, doors 8pm
I have a few more in the works but won’t post about them till the details are finalized.
Onto more Hoarder Myna-esque news, here are our upcoming gigs (including the ones above)
21st August – Carpe Diem Free!
28th August – Royal Park, Hreda, Theo + Nitkowski
26th September – Upstairs at the Cardigan Arms, Hreda
1st October – Castrovalva, Shield Your Eyes + Amateur Assassins
16th – Magnapinna, Amateur Assassins + Arthur Walker
Also we’ve just finished recording for our forthcoming EP and are back in the studio Monday morning to mix it all and argue over frequencies once again. Once it’s all done, we’ll be burning these off and handing them out free at shows no doubt.
The recording was done by our now good vegetarian, Bear Grylls lookalike, racist joke telling, giant octopus loving friend, and guitarist of Magnapinna, Johnny
We thank you, Jimbo x

April 28, 2009
Well to quote Nickelback “It’s been a while”, we’re in the process of writing and booking a tour. Looking for dates around June in the north, if anyone has anything available let us know.
We’re playing a gig this Friday (May 1st) put on by Leedsoundsix upstairs at the Library in Leeds with Out From Animals and Deathretro it’s £4 in and doors open at 8, we would really appreciate it if you came down.

Here’s an old poster, most details are still correct.
We’ve also been put on the bill for Fucked Up Festival at the Dry Bar in Manchester June 28th, the facebook group is here. It’s being put on by Beat Promotions and has the following bands playing (as of 22nd April 2009)…
I bid you farewell for a while…
April 1, 2009
So with the Easter holidays and our holiday controlled diaries we’ll be away from each other (by that I mean I will be away) for a couple of weeks, but have no fear I have it on good authority that there will be recordings made in my absence.
We have re-recorded “Hoarder me a new direction dear” and once we’re satisfied with the quality of 2 mics in a bedroom it shall be placed up on some sort of Internet “widget” for all to listen to. We’re writing slowly, from my narrow perspective on things we seem to be happy with it, I defiantly am. Once we have more songs recorded we’ll throw together some sort of demo featuring songs of ours, that might be sold, might be free, to be honest we haven’t discussed it, but it will be cheap.
Now onto the main point, we have a gig tomorrow night at Subculture in Leeds, kicking off aroun 8ish I think featuring such amazing bands as Flatlands and Magnapinna. Listen to them and enjoy, I also understand there will be some kind of after party, if your nice and like us/buy us drinks we’ll tell you where.
Here’s the poster, please come, it would mean the world to us, even in this awful state of financial ruin that you’ll find yourselves in (even more so for the student without jobs waiting for their loan), pretty please.

Garrulous writings…
March 22, 2009
I haven’t posted anything for 10 days, which is strange as it seemed so much longer and before I realised it was not so long I was all ready to come up with a huge apology and use the excuse that because of cheap monitors blowing I couldn’t access the blog, which for the most part would have been a lie.
I’ve been writing, lyrics. We may be gracing Wales (Cardiff birth place of Mclusky) with our presence sometime as well as Lancaster and I think there will be some sort of mini tour for the Summer. We have been neglecting the band as of late due to the nice spell of whether in Leeds we decided robbing from derelict ex-Invalid Ladies homes and barbecuing the shit out of anything with meat on it was much more important.
We have begun writing a new song, and we will take our time with it, I am going to try work in a few words other than numbers (no matter what language). Soon it will be time to get our heads down and start storing our noises to tape (or hard-disk as it were), then hopefully once we are happy with it we’ll have a nice little EP, we haven’t got a title ready yet, but I’m gunning for something very long and just as childish.
I made a picture today, and remember remember the 2nd of April-vember for your chance to experience us in all our wrong doings, as well as the wonderful noise of Magnapinna and Flatlands

Thanks are in order…
March 12, 2009
To all who came to Fuel Sunday 8th March 2009 in Manchester and the practice rooms/after party. Thanks to Danny and Arficeden for having us and being lovely guys. Treatment Rooms, Box and Satellites for playing great sets and lastly God, without God we couldn’t have done any of this… thanks God, peace.
Anyway we have another gig (I know a whole 2 gigs soon) booked that I mentioned before at Subculture in Leeds on April 2nd, being put on by Craig and Paul of Lovely Time Promotions
This is with Magnapinna and Flatlands.
I think that is all for now, cheerio.
